Fulham coach Slavisa Jokanovic was happy with the character and desire shown by his Fulham side to claw their way back and earn a point at home to Cardiff City on Saturday.
A late Kevin McDonald equalizer meant the Whites remained unbeaten in the league and continued their solid start to the campaign.
“They scored two fantastic goals,” Jokanovic admitted. “But my team showed ambition, they showed spirit and my team showed desire.
“We pushed hard at the end. We equalised and after that we could have won the game.
“Unfortunately we didn’t score the third goal. The sensation is a little bit mixed for us. We can never be completely satisfied unless we win the game.
“It’s part of football to concede two fantastic goals like we did.
“But we have to keep going. There are 42 games left in front of us.”
Fulham entered the break with a slim advantage courtesy of a Ryan Sessegnon goal but were pegged back in the second half.
Two fantastic goals from Joe Ralls and Anthony Pilkington saw the Whites in a perilous situation with ten minutes to go. Head Coach Jokanovic was quick to praise his players once again for a positive reaction to the setback.
“We all know this game,” he reflected. “It’s never over. I cannot complain about the way we defended for their two goals.
“They were two fantastic goals. We found it hard to react to their goals.
“But I will repeat. We showed ambition, spirit and desire.
“We know how long the Championship is. We had the experience from a few days ago against Leeds.
“After we scored the first we didn’t think that it was the end of the game.”
With just over a week left in the transfer window the Whites will be looking to strengthen throughout the spine of the side, not just up front since the departure of Ross McCormack.
“It’s not a question of one striker,” the Head Coach insisted. “We need on centre midfielder as well.
“I believe we need to improve the depth at centre back.”
The match saw another exceptional display from a young Fulham product in Sessegnon and the Head Coach was full of praise for another mature performance from the player.
“I can be good for us,” he observed. “This player is a winner.
“He always want to win the game and push to the very end. He’s 16 years and 3 months old.
“He is very young player. He has to be happy as today he scored his first professional goal at Fulham.
“We need to assess him and help him and I’m sure in the future he can be an important part of my squad and help us.
“He can play in different positions but he can play at full-back. When we lost Floyd Ayité I played him further forward.
“He is a good project for Fulham.”
