Fulham coach Slavisa Jokanovic failed to hide his frustrations at the club’s transfer policy after watching Fulham’s 2-2 draw with Cardiff at Craven Cottage.

The Cottagers took the lead through 16-year-old Ryan Sessegnon before Cardiff went ahead with two sublime strikes.

Kevin McDonald’s late strike salvaged a point for Fulham who remain unbeaten so far this season.

Jokanovic admitted his players could do little to prevent Cardiff’s stunning goals but the Serbian is surprised the club have failed to buy a centre-back in the current transfer window.

He then named for the first time the man he feels is responsible - Craig Kline, the club's 'director of statistical research.'

A university friend of club owner, Shahid Khan's son, Tony, Kline insists statistical evidence is the way to find new players - something like the Jonah Hill character does in the hit baseball movie Moneyball.

Reports in February suggested Kline and Jokanovic had argued, as borne out by the manager's comments after the game.

“I don’t think we need a striker but the position I want to improve is centre-back but this is not in my hands," Joka said.

“I am not an important person in terms of recruitment, I have lost many players in the nine months behind me.

“Ask Craig Kline because I do not handle this side of the business, in the end the decision is not in my hands.

“I am not frustrated but I am a little bit surprised.

“He is a very important person in the club but nobody knows him.

“He should come from backstage and explain what we are doing in the football club.”

The off-field frustrations felt by Jokanovic did not stop him praising his players after their come back from 2-1 down in the last five minutes.
