Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic has insisted his sole focus is on Derby County and not automatic promotion.

The Cottagers are the Championship’s form team at the minute. They find themselves on a 12-game unbeaten run, with nine of those being victories.

That has lifted Fulham into fifth place in the division, just a point and a place behind the Rams.

Jokanovic’s men head to Pride Park Stadium on Saturday to face a Derby side without a win in four, knowing victory in the East Midlands would lift them above their hosts.

Fulham’s strong run of form has people tipping them for a push for the automatic promotion places.

They will start the weekend eight points behind Cardiff City, in second, with 12 games left to play.

Jokanovic was asked if he was looking at second place following Saturday’s 2-0 victory over leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers.

“I am looking for the next game (against Derby County),” he said.

“Next game we are going to have another opportunity to fight for three points and this will be soon part of the history and there will be another more important game.

“Where we are going to finish I cannot answer right now.”

Fulham’s surge up the table has included impressive victories against promotion-chasing Wolves, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and Cardiff City.

They will be hoping to add Derby to that list on Saturday.

“We focus on ourselves as there is still a long way to go,” Jokanovic told talkSPORT .

“We want to play good football but we need people who trust what we want to do.

“This team is enjoying this and they have shown in the last two months that they trust this as the best option for us.”
