Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic anticipates a “complicated” fixture when his team visit Bristol City at a time when both hope to strengthen their pursuit of automatic promotion.

Both teams are expected to reach the Championship play-offs and remain in contention to battle for second place, and even if his team have won five of their past six games he recognises their hosts – who won 2-0 at Craven Cottage earlier this season – represent a significant risk

“It’s a really complicated game for us,” Jokanovic, 49, said.

“We are going to find an aggressive team, a team we were not especially successful against when we (last) played them.

“The next game is the most important one, and the next game is the Bristol City one, and we must be ready and push hard to come back with the points from Bristol.

“I cannot survive three games in one week with 11 players. Now we have more options, I have important players in different lines of the team.

“Our expectations are high and we expect we can repeat our good performances, we can play good games with different players.

“I trust that we can all together do a great job and I expect the individual quality of all these people will serve the team.”

Fellow promotion contenders Derby host Leeds, who under new manager Paul Heckingbottom remain outsiders for a top-six finish, on an evening when the Championship’s promotion picture could become noticeably clearer.

Gary Rowett’s team previously lost at Sheffield Wednesday, but face another side without a victory in nine.

Cardiff, perhaps most widely expected to secure a second place finish behind league leaders Wolves, visit Ipswich where they will hope to secure a third successive victory against a team that have drawn their past two.

Wolves, meanwhile, host mid-table Norwich expecting to retain or even strengthen their healthy lead and move a step closer to securing automatic promotion.
