Fulham are set to confirm that manager Slavisa Jokanovic has agreed a new two-year contract.

Jokanovic signed an 18-month deal when he took over in December 2015 and the Championship club were determined to agree an extension before he became a free agent in the summer.

He has been targeted by a number of clubs including Malaga and Werder Bremen having impressed at Craven Cottage.

They won their third game in a row at Bristol City on Wednesday night to remain just six points behind a play-offs position, plus they have a game in hand on three of the clubs above them.

Jokanovic confirmed at the weekend that he was in talks with Fulham and wanted to stay at the club.

He said: "I'm under contract and I am motivated to keep going and that's it. We are talking about this right now.

"I am happy here and it's a great club and we need to be more successful than we are and that's it.

"This is part of the football business. I try and focus on my daily job."

The 48-year-old has won many admirers for the team's style of play in the second tier of English football.

Statistics released last month showed that they were only behind Paris St Germain and Bayern Munich in Europe's top five leagues for the highest average of successful passes this season.
