Referee Jeremy Simpson, 44 years old, made his senior debut as a referee in the 2008/09 season, taking charge of what was then a Blue Square Premier fixture between York and Stevenage. He was appointed to the EFL Referees List in 2012/13 and since then he has refereed over 100 matches.

After refing games in the third and fourth tier he started in the Championship and was recruited into Select Group 2 – a group of officials, in 2016, who will operate in the Football League Championship on full time contracts.

Mr Simpson last reffed Fulham in February 2018 when we drew 1-1 away at Bristol City, Bobby Reid and Aleksandar Mitrovic were the goal scorers. Three Bristol City players were booked along with one Fulham player, Stefan Johansen for arguing in the 93rd minute.

Prior to the Bristol City game he refed Fulham in April of the previous 2016/2017 season in the 4-2 defeat at Derby when he yellow carded one Derby player and three Fulham players, Piazon (45+2,sim), McDonald (87,f), Aluko (90,f) .

In the August of the same season Ref Simpson also bossed Fulham when we drew 2-2 at home to Cardiff. He booked Madl for a foul and three visiting players.

Bristol City last had the pleasure of Mr Simpson's company back in March 2019 when he refed their 1-1 away draw at Preston. He booked three players, all from Bristol City.

Last season he refed 40 games and dished out 163 yellows, an above average 4.1 yellows per game, and an above average 7 reds.

Mr Simpson's busiest game in recent time was Sunderland's away win at Doncaster, in October 2018, when he booked six home players and four visiting players.
