Fulham centre back John Heitinga is certain that the west London club will bounce straight back to the Premier League next season.
The 30-year-old centre back only joined Fulham in January and is mulling over his options with his contract expiring next month.
Heitinga turned down the chance to join West Ham a week before his move to Craven Cottage and could stay in London next season with the Cottagers keen to keep his experience in their squad.
A number of young stars have made the step up to the first team under Felix Magath, with the under-18 side impressing in the FA Youth Cup and Premier League.
Heitinga hopes that the new-look Fulham squad can gel quickly and earn instant promotion back to the Premier League next season.
"It's a feeling that is not nice. I've been here for more than three months, played 14 games, and unfortunately we didn't have enough to survive in the league," he told the club's official site.
"It's more that we disappointed people inside and outside the Club; the Chairman, the fans. They don't deserve this and hopefully we can manage to come back in one season."
"I think that the combination of promising youth with experienced players means it's possible to have a really good squad next season."
Heitinga is set to make a decision on his future over the next few weeks.
