Liverpool have completed the signing of youngster Harvey Elliott from Fulham.

The 16-year-old became the youngest player in Premier League history when he came on as a substitute during Fulham's game against Wolves in May aged 16 years and 30 days.

And he has now decided to move to Anfield ahead of the new season.

Liverpool fans could get an early glimpse of their new signing — the second player to join this summer after Sepp van den Berg — as he will be part of their squad for the Napoli friendly on Sunday.

He will also travel with the first-team for their training camp in Evian, France, next week.

Elliot was delighted at the move and posted on his Instagram, writing: 'I am so happy to be able to announce that I have signed for Liverpool.

'To have joined the club that I supported as a boy is a dream come true for me and all of my family and it’s an incredible feeling to now officially be able to call myself a Red!

'I can’t wait to get started and it will be a truly special feeling to pull the famous red jersey on.

'I’ll work as hard as I possibly can for the club and I feel Anfield is the perfect place for me to develop and progress as a player.'

Elliott turned down the chance to stay with Fulham and play in the Championship next campaign. Liverpool now will have to pay a large compensation fee for him.

He was also attracting interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig but chose to make the switch to Liverpool instead.

Goal.com is reporting that Liverpool will pay Fulham a fee in the region of £6.5m
