Jean Tigana, on crutches with his right shin and foot in plaster after an operation, said "The players have progressed in a year at the higher level. "And our midfielders have scored many goals this season, which is the difference from last season. "When we started in the Intertoto, the aim was to play in this game. "We got through many stages to get here - but there's no target now as it's a discovery for me and the players. "It's very important for the players to get experience at a higher level."
Fulham's Republic of Ireland international Steve Finnan is expected to make his comeback from injury against Hajduk Split in Croatia to night. The right-back's knee problem kept him out of Saturday's 3-0 demolition of Sunderland - but he is now fit again and in line to replace Abdeslam Ouaddou in the starting line-up.
Cameroon defender Pierre Wome is also back after his horror tackle with Chris Perry in last Wednesday's 3-2 victory against Tottenham.
Winger Luis Boa Morte is still struggling with a knee problem - and forward Louis Saha is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Hadjuk Split Manager Zoran Vulic said "We have had bad team news. Nino Bule, the forward, is doubtful with a leg injury, but may be pressed into service, while Petr Kirpan, signed from Croatia Zagreb, is ineligible.
I expect Fulham are favourites over the two matches, but not in Split, Vulic said. Here we have such a great atmosphere. The fans seem to turn things in our favour.
Former Derby and West Ham star Igor Stimac is expected to feature, while Split's head coach is ex-West Ham and Everton man Slaven Bilic.
Star striker Tomoslav Anzeg moved to Hiroshima earlier this month and Petr Krpan, who joined from Zagreb, is not eligible.
However, Split and Croatia's first-choice goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa is now fit again after injury.
As an extra incentive, Hajduk Split have fined players as a means of motivation. After Split's 1-0 defeat to Slaven Belupo, head coach Zoran Vulic fined youngsters Mario Carevic, Hrvoje Vukovic and Ivica Piric £1,800 for "inappropriate behaviour on the pitch".
Vulic said: "Our players overreacted and that's why they were booked and now fined, too. We can't accept such behaviour".
The Croatian side have lost two of their seven league matches this season because of sending offs
