Peter Grant says he is happy to stay in caretaker charge for as long as Fulham need him to as the club look for a new head coach.

Development-squad boss Grant presided over the 1-1 draw at MK Dons after the Whites were unable to make a permanent appointment during the international break.

"I don't want the job at all. I'm here to do a job for the club," Grant said.

"I thoroughly enjoyed today, I loved every moment. But I think we've got to get the right man to get to the Premier League.

"If I can give the club an opportunity to take a bit of time, and they ask me to keep doing what I'm doing, then I'll be delighted to do that.

"Any way I can help, I will do. But hopefully then we'll be in a good place that I can hand the reins over."

Moussa Dembele equalised for Fulham on the stroke of half-time after Dean Bowditch had scored for the hosts.

And Grant said: "I can see the flaws in our team. We've conceded a lot of goals but were the top scorers in the league before today. We were poor in the first half but more diligent in the second.

"It's been a tough couple of weeks for them; losing the game against Birmingham, losing their manager, and it being the international break when a lot of the boys have been away.

"They've had a lot of different voices over the last few weeks so I think we can be happy with a point."
