FULHAM are said to be interested in Dundee
midfielder Gavin Rae, but face competition from Ipswich, Leicester and
Middlesbrough.
The 23-year-old Scottish international has created a name for himself
in Scotland as one of their best young midfielders, and, together with
Barry Ferguson of Rangers, is seen as the future of the national team
north of the border.
However, he may well be tempted to turn
his back on his homeland and move to the Premiership, where there are
a host of clubs queuing up for his signature.
Fulham and Ipswich are thought to be leading
the race with Jean Tigana showing particular interest.
Leicester and Middlesbrough are likely
to join the bidding which could reach at least £3 million, but Boro
have other targets in Scotland with Aberdeen`s Kevin McNaughton the preferred
target for the Teessiders.
Dundee manager Ivano Bonetti has always
stated that he does not want his best players to leave Dens Park, but
he needs money to bolster his squad having just lost star-striker Claudio
Caniggia to Rangers for a nominal fee.
