Fulham youngster to shine for Republic
REPUBLIC of Ireland manager Steve Staunton will be an interested spectator as the national U21 side contest a four team Madeira tournament. Under-21 coach Don Givens said “I know Steve will be watching our first game against Madeira, which is good for the the lads.”
The Republic, who won the event in 2004, take on hosts Madeira on Tuesday, followed by Finland on Wednesday and their last game will be against Portugal on Friday.
Promising Fulham midfielder Michael Timlin has again been selected for the Irish squad.
