Slavisa Jokanovic is pleased to have Tim Ream back at his disposal, but says he needs time to get back to the heights of last year.
The American saw off the challenge of Ryan Sessegnon and Kevin McDonald to win Fulham’s Player of the Season award in the summer, and is pushing for involvement at Everton, having made his first appearance of the campaign in midweek.
“Tim Ream is in a good way,” Jokanovic stated. “He started working with us, he played one hour against Millwall.
“He probably needs a little bit more time to reach his best level. We assessed and observed him and soon he is going to be available for us to use.
“Tim Ream was Player of the Year and the best player in the team last season. He’s definitely an important player for us.”
Another boost this week came in the form of Tom Cairney’s return to training, but when asked if the Whites captain would feature at Goodison Park, Jokanovic replied: “I still cannot answer you.
“He’s an important player for us, a player who doesn’t lose the ball. We need to defend less when he is on the pitch.
“He started working with us this week which was positive but we must still assess him and make a decision as to when is the right moment to give him the opportunity to play a Premier League game.”
Meanwhile, Neeskens Kebano remains sidelined, and a decision will be made on Alfie Mawson who currently has a back problem.

Silva confirmed that Yerry Mina has suffered a setback after being on the receiving end of an accidental stamp from team-mate Bernard in training.
Both Mina and Seamus Coleman are expected to be back next week, but Phil Jag ielka (knee) is out while Andre Gomes (hamstring) is close to making his first appearance since joining on loan from Barcelona.
