Matchday Referee: Mike Dean - Wirral
2002/03 is Mike Dean's third Premiership season and his profile should rise considerably as he takes charge of more matches.
Some players might have a hard time taking orders from someone younger than them, but the Premiership's senior professionals will have to get used to it because there's a new kid on the block. He's already proved handy at dishing out discipline; Dean issued an average of three yellows per game last season.
The Merseyside shift supervisor turned full-time ref at 34 is one of the Barclaycard Premiership's youngest referees.
(Ed. The last time Mr Dean officiated at a Fulham game was in the momentous 2-2 draw away at Middlesbrough where he booked Steve Finnan and Steed Malbranque both for dissent. Last year he reffed four Fulham games booking four of our players one of them, Louis Saha, for yes you guessed dissent.)
