Fulham v Ipswich - Squad news

last updated Friday 19th October 2001, 2:53 PM

Fulham
Abdeslam Ouaddou's comeback from his eye injury has been delayed, meaning he faces another fortnight on the sidelines and will miss Fulham's clash with Ipswich on Sunday.

The midfielder consulted a specialist yesterday and was told he will not be able to return to Jean Tigana's squad until early November.

Alain Goma is fully fit after his six-week absence with a hip injury, but fellow defender Kit Symons is a doubt following his hamstring pull in Wales' 1-0 victory against Belarus two weeks ago.

Fulham (from):
Edwin van der Sar, Steve Finnan, Andy Melville, Alain Goma, Rufus Brevett, Sylvain Legwinski, Lee Clark, John Collins, Sean Davis, Steve Marlet, Louis Saha, Bazza Hayles, Luis Boa Morte, Maik Taylor, Zat Knight, Steed Malbranque, Bjarne Goldbaek.

Ipswich
Tractor Boys' star Alun Armstrong could be ruled out of Sunday's match at Fulham with his recurring back problem.

The former Middlesbrough striker has been plagued by the injury for months and the trouble flared again this week forcing him to miss Thursday night's 0-0 UEFA Cup second-round first-leg tie with Helsingborg at Portman Road.

Titus Bramble (Achilles) is still sidelined, but otherwise George Burley has no further injury concerns.

Ipswich (from):
Sereni, Wilnis, McGreal, Hreidarsson, Venus, Wright, Magilton, Holland, Reuser, George, Stewart, Armstrong, Clapham, Makin, Counago, Naylor, Peralta, Gaardsoe, Branagan.

Marcus Stewart will be one of the strikers to watch on Sunday with 10 shots on target 8 of which were from within the area. Finidi George is the other lively striker for the visitors with 9 shots on target, 7 from outside the box. At the moment neither have been very fortunate in terms of goals and lets hope that stays the same on Sunday. In the midfield, although not as good as Steve Finnan, Matt Holland is their top passer with 287 successful passes. It seems that the Tractor Boys will be missing their top tackling defender Titus Bramble which will be a relief as he is also their joint top fouler. Our own Top men have not changed position from the last league match apart from Steve Davis who
now has 3 yellows in the League and 1 in the League Cup.
