Steve Finnan's medial knee ligament injury means he will miss Fulham's Uefa Cup tie against Hajduk Split at Loftus Road. The right-back sustained the injury in Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Everton. Cottagers physio Jason Palmer says he also expects him to miss the Republic of Ireland's Euro 2004 qualifier with Switzerland on 17 October.
Centre-back Alain Goma, who pulled his hamstring at Goodison Park, will also be missing for the second leg, when Fulham will aim to protect a 1-0 lead. Goma will be out for the next two matches, but should return for the visit of Manchester United on 23 October.
Centre-back Martin Djetou, who signed on a year-long loan from Parma in July but immediately needed a knee cartilage operation, has had his return to full training delayed.
Striker Louis Saha, already out for three weeks with his hamstring problem, has also pencilled in the clash with United for his comeback.
Manager Jean Tigana is likely to play Andy Melville with Zat Knight at the heart of Fulham's defence and use Abdeslam Ouaddou at right back as his team defend a 1-0 first round first-leg advantage.
