Out-of-favour Tottenham striker Robbie Keane could be on his way to Fulham, according to The Sun.

The new Cottagers manager Martin Jol is reportedly keen to link up again with the 30-year-old, having enjoyed some success together during Jol's time at Spurs.

Keane has endured a frustrating spell over the last few years, ever since his ill-fated move to Liverpool in the summer of 2008. After returning to White Hart Lane six months later, he fell down the pecking order and made loan moves to both Celtic and West Ham to try to revive his career.

And if reports are to be believed then he may finally get that opportunity at Craven Cottage, with Jol looking to build on the foundations laid by outgoing gaffer Mark Hughes.

It is rumoured that Spurs would accept a cut-price £4 million deal to take Keane off their hands, but the bigger problem may be the striker's wages, which are in excess of £70,000 per week.

Despite his woes at club level, Keane remains a force on the international stage, becoming the first Republic of Ireland player to score more than 50 goals for his country with a brace against Macedonia in a Euro 2012 qualifier.

Currently Giovanni Trapattoni's captain, Keane has moved up to twelfth in the all-time international goalscoring charts, level with Turkey's Hakan Sukur and France's Thierry Henry.
