Fulham are set to complete the signing of FC Twente striker Chris David in January after missing out on the 19-year-old's signature in the summer transfer window.
Martin Jol's men had an agreement in place with the Eredivisie side on the final day of the window and a move almost went through for a nominal fee until time ran out on the deal.
David's move will be resurrected in January though, with reports in the Netherlands suggesting he has undergone a medical with Fulham already in preparation for the New Year switch.
After the striker refused to sign a new contract with Twente, he has not been included in first-team matches.
Twente's domestic rivals Ajax were also in the race to sign David but have missed out to the pulling power of the Premier League side.
Fulham had a busy summer transfer deadline day, completing deals for Dimitar Berbatov, Kieran Richardson and Ashkan Dejagah.
As well as missing out on David, they also saw moves for Lyon left-back Michel Bastos and Ghanaian midfielder Derek Boateng fall through in a frantic day of transfer market trading.
