Fulham Striker Raul Jimenez has been released by Fulham three days before the start of his World Cup campaign.
The Cottagers announced the news today, with the Mexican marksman set to begin this summer’s tournament clubless.
Following the expiry of Jimenez‘s contract, Fulham said: “Raul Jimenez has played a vital role during his three years at Fulham, scoring 31 times.”
Before adding: “We would like to thank every player for their service and efforts during their time at Fulham, and wish them the best of luck during the next chapters of their career.”
The update comes as World Cup hosts Mexico gear up for their first clash of the tournament against South Africa on Thursday in Mexico City.
But where the Mexico front-man will be playing his club football is the question after today’s news.
He made 36 Premier League appearances for the West London club in 2025-26, scoring nine times – one less than club top-scorer Harry Wilson.
Having joined Fulham from Wolves in 2023, the 35-year-old scored 28 goals in 98 league games across a three-year period.
He has had interest from other Premier League sides and Club America but Wolves have sent a delegation over to Mexico to help convince the centre forward he can spearhead their return to the top flight.
