Hull City are interested in Fulham striker Jay Stansfield after his loan spell at Birmingham City, as detailed in a report by HullLive.

Hull City are casting their eyes over the forward as they hunt for new signings at the top end of the pitch this summer under new manager Tim Walter. They have a few vacancies to fill up front following Liam Delap, Noah Ohio, Billy Sharp and Aaron Connolly’s exits following the end of last season.

Stansfield, 21, spent last term with Birmingham City and was a hit with the Midlands outfit despite their relegation to League One along with Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town. He made 47 appearances for the Blues in all competitions and scored 13 goals, 12 of which came in the league.

In this latest update regarding his situation, HullLive claim the Tigers are keen on luring him back down to the Football League now the transfer window is open for business. However, he is expected to stay at Craven Cottage for the time being as the Whites weigh up his future.

Stansfield would be ideal for Hull City and would be an ideal replacement for Delap, who has now gone back to Manchester City.

The youngster joined Fulham in 2019 from Exeter City and ended up going back on loan to the Grecians in 2022.

He scored nine goals in 39 matches for the third tier side before linking up with Birmingham City.

The England youth international proved with the Blues last term that he can be a handful in the Championship.

Stansfield has played eight times for Fulham’s first-team so far in his career, finding the net once, and they need to decide what to do with him next.

His chances of breaking into their starting XI in the Premier League are slim so another temporary exit would boost his development.
