Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has been named Championship Player of the Season at the 2022 EFL awards ceremony in London.
The Serbian frontman was presented with the award at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, as the end of a historic personal campaign draws to a close.
The 27-year-old has scored 41 times so far which saw him break the record for the most goals scored in a Championship season. His strikes, coupled with the creativity of team-mate Wilson, who has contributed 16 assists and scored 10 himself, have powered Fulham to the top of the division.
Marco Silva's Cottagers were promoted back to the Premier League at the first time of asking following a 3-0 win over Preston earlier this week.
Mitrovic beat off competition from Fulham team-mate Harry Wilson and Bournemouth's Dominic Solanke to win the award.
On receiving his award Fulham's Sky Bet Championship Player of the Season Aleksandar Mitrovic said on stage: "It's an amazing season on a personal and team level. We've created our style of play ad it's perfect for me.
"As a striker you always want to score more and more goals - I go into every game trying to score every possible goal. After the last season in the Premier League it was hard, it is not easy to come into the Championship, we know how hard this league is and I think we showed really good character."
On chasing Guy Whittingham's 42-goal record in the Championship, he added: "Everyone is starting to speak about the record, so why not break this record? I will try to score as much as I can."

Aleksandar Mitrovic’s wonderful season continued on Sunday evening when he was named Championship Player of the Year at the 2022 EFL Awards.
Harry Wilson was also deservedly nominated for the accolade, along with Dominic Solanke of Bournemouth, but it was the irrepressible Mitro who took the trophy home.
It doesn’t come as a great surprise, considering he’s scored 41 times in as many matches, absolutely destroying the previous record for goals in a Championship season.
Mitro is also having his best ever season on the assist front, laying on seven for his teammates, meaning he’s been involved in a goal every 75 minutes.
Congratulations Mitro on a magnificent campaign!
