FULHAM have added to the squad ahead of
the start of the Premiership season by signing Moroccan defender Abdeslam
Ouaddou from French second Division side Nancy.
Cottagers boss Jean Tigana has again used his French connections to beat
off competition from a number of top European clubs to grab the 22-year-old
centre half.
Ouaddou had attracted the interest of Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Monaco and
Ajax but the price tag, which could be as much as £4 million, has
put them off signing him.
A report on the French club's website released the news saying: "An
agreement was reached today (Friday) between the ASNL, Fulham and Abdeslam
Ouaddou.
"This will involve a move for next season with Fulham. He has signed
a four-year contract. A clause does not enable us to indicate the amount
of the transfer."
The Moroccan international will join fellow French defender Alain Goma
at Craven Cottage as Tigana continues to search Europe for players he
believes will help Fulham consolidate their position in the top-flight.
The player, who is currently away on International duty with Morocco,
will arrive at Craven Cottage on Monday.
