Fulham reserves show Spurs how to do it with goals from Paul Peschisolido, Steve Hayward and a brace by Sam Keevil.

Oyvind Leonhardsen could be set to return in the north London derby on Monday night after playing 90 minutes of a private friendly game against Fulham on Tuesday.

Despite the defeat, the positive side was seeing the Norwegian international scoring and completing his first game since being sidelined in October with a hamstring injury.

The midfielder's strike was not enough to secure the win. Although Spurs dominated the possession and created more chances, it was Fulham that snatch the victory in the final 10 minutes.

In the first half, Spurs immediately looked dangerous as Matthew Etherington sprinted onto Willem Korsten's flick only for his effort to be cleared.

The following eight minutes saw the home side having four good chances to open the scoring. Korsten swung a free-kick over, Leonhardsen's deflected shot forced a fine save from Anthony Tucker, Mark Gower's effort went straight at the Fulham goalkeeper and Korsten fired an attempt wide.

Surprisingly it was Fulham who scored in the 14th minute. Steve Hayward's pass released Paul Peschisolido and the striker's shot flew into the top corner.

Spurs continued to dominant and despite two fine saves from Tucker to deny Neale Fenn and Simon Davies, Tottenham scored the equaliser.

John Piercy raced down the right and swung the cross into the box. The ball was not cleared and Fenn's low shot from close range went into the bottom corner.

Almost immediately in the second half, Spurs took the lead. Leonhardsen won the ball from a Fulham defender and wasted no time in firing the ball into the net for 2-1.

Within two minutes of having a penalty appeal turned down, Fulham were level again. The ball broke loose at the edge of the Spurs area and Sammy Keevil hit an effort that would have flown into the stands. However, the strong wind blew the ball back into play and Hayward made no mistake in slotting the ball past the goalkeeper.

Tottenham did not lose their fighting spirit and continued to bombard the Fulham goal. John Jackson's curling corner had to be tipped over by Tucker and Ian Hillier's half-volley went inches wide.

With only 10 minutes left, Peschisolido released Keelvil who planted the ball under the Spurs goalkeeper for 3-2.

Unfortunately, Fulham scored again in the final minute with Keevil tapping in Hayward's cross to secure the win.
