Fulham are in talks with former Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder about becoming their new boss, talkSPORT understands.

The recently relegated Whites are looking for a replacement for Scott Parker, who has joined Championship rivals Bournemouth on a three-year deal.

And on Wednesday’s White & Jordan show, talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook revealed that Wilder is under consideration for the vacant position at Craven Cottage.

“Steve Cooper is really keen to get out of Swansea after their near miss in the play-offs last season,” Crook said.

“He was one on Crystal Palace’s radar and Fulham’s as well.

“But I was told last night that Chris Wilder is in talks with Fulham.

“I think that would be a really good appointment with his pedigree in the Championship.”

Wilder’s five-year reign in charge at Bramall Lane came to an end in May with the club bottom of the Premier League.

But the 53-year-old, a boyhood Sheffield United fan, will be remembered fondly by supporters for taking the Blades from League One to the top-flight within the space of just three years.

Meanwhile, the aforementioned Cooper is also in the running to take over at Fulham, having previously attracted interest from Crystal Palace.
