Fulham rejected a £20million bid for Fulham playmaker Tom Cairney from Newcastle according to Cottagers manager Slavisa Jokanovic.
Toon boss Rafa Benitez has already bought Christian Atsu from Chelsea and has now apparently made a massive bid for the Scotland midfielder.
But the west London club has have stood firm and refused the chance to cash in on one of the hottest talents outside the Premier League.
Cairney was part of the Fulham side that lost out on a shot at the Prem in the Play-Offs last season and Benitez offered him an alternative route at St James Park.
Jokanovic told Serbian site Engleski Fudbal: “Yes, Cairney is good.
“He (Benitez) asked for him and they offered £20million, but we did not let him go.
“He is not for Newcastle, there is no business there, he fits in at Fulham.
“When the team has problems the ball always goes to him and he keeps it.”
