Fulham midfielder Josh King’s all-action display against Hull City has seen him named Royal Caribbean Legend of the Match.
The young midfielder was absolutely everywhere as Fulham claimed our first Premier League victory of the season, with his movement into pockets and ball carrying abilities leaving the Tigers hunting shadows.
King was unfortunate not to have come away with a goal, having twice been denied by City stopper Konstantinos Tzolakis, and also created a number of chances for teammates – notably a stunning pass for Gonzalo García, and a spin and cross that almost led to a second for Alex Iwobi.
“I would have liked to have come away with something more, myself personally – a goal or assist,” King admitted. “But the main thing was that we got the win, and that’s so massive for us. My goals and assists will come, but today it’s all about the team.
“We were just really brave today – I think that’s the best way to describe it. We played as a team who knew what we had to do – we had to get the three points, and I think we just worked so hard for each other from zero to 90 minutes.
“In previous games, maybe that’s where we’ve struggled a little bit more – having the lead in a couple of games and letting it slip – so for us to keep that win, and get the three points, is so massive for us.”
There was a lot of love for the Fulham midfield in the Legend of the Match ballot, with King, Iwobi, Sander Berge and Shea Charles accounting for 80 per cent of all the votes.
Josh King (38.6%)
Alex Iwobi (23.4%)
Sander Berge (10.9%)
