Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha’s remarkable strike against Leeds United has been voted Fulham’s Goal of the Month for February.

The midfielder anticipated Tyler Adams’ loose pass and robbed possession before Marc Roca could get to it. That was a decent first touch, but his second was nothing short of majestic.

After a quick look up, Palhinha opened his body and bent a sublime effort around Illan Meslier from a full 30 yards, with the ball kissing the post on its way in just to add to the sexiness of the shot.

“I think it’s the best goal in my career,” João told FFCtv at full-time. “I recovered the ball, looked for the goal, and tried to do the effect that I put on the ball.

“I felt really grateful to score, to help the team to win.”

In a month littered with fantastic Fulham goals, any strike which came out on top had to be special, and there’s no doubting that Palhinha is a worthy winner.

We received a record amount of votes for a Goal of the Month competition, and 34.2 per cent of you voted for Palhinha.

Willian’s beaut against Nottingham Forest came second with 19.6%, with Manor Solomon taking up each of the subsequent three placings for his goals against Leeds (16.2%), Wolves (13.3%) and Brighton (12.2%).
