Bought by Fulham from OGC Nice after some great seasons in the south of France, Jean-Michael Seri was meant to be the key to unlock the midfield at Craven Cottage.

Instead, the Ivory Coast international struggled to adapt to English football and was unable to help the London side from avoiding relegation in his first season there.

Unwilling to play in the Championship and perhaps too expensive to keep around, Seri was first sent to Galatasaray on loan, and despite Fulham returning to the Premier League this season, was exiled to Bordeaux this season in January with an option to buy.

Making just 12 league appearances, the midfielder hardly impressed, and it’s now revealed by Sport.fr that Seri ‘will return to Fulham’ as the current board ‘do not wish to keep him’.

That leaves a once again relegated Cottagers side to sort out something for the Ivorian in the summer, as he’ll likely want to leave definitely.

His contract with Fulham expires in 2022, meaning the next transfer window could be the final chance for the club to recuperate a chunk of their initial £27m investment.

Will they have many suitors, though? We’ll have to wait and find out.
