Fulham manager Marco Silva spoke about standards during his pre match press conference, highlighting the levels needed to compete in the Premier League.
His side were beaten for the first time in nine matches on Tuesday night at the hands of West Ham, and will now travel to Leicester looking to bounce back.
“The Premier League is always really competitive,” Marco explained. “It doesn’t matter who you’re playing, you have to always reach certain standards and levels.
“The unbeaten run was very, very good. It's always difficult to have these type of runs. For us there was even a period where we had some important players out injured and some players that were suspended, and we as a squad responded really well.
“Small details led to us drawing some games. If those small details went in our favour, we would have won more. The last game against West Ham, it ended in the worst way possible.
“It's up to us now to react. We can't change that game. We've analysed, we know what things happened and what we have to improve for the next one and let's go with all our trust and belief and quality to try to win the next one.”
Fulham registered 21 shots in the 3-2 defeat at the London Stadium, but were caught out at the back.
“If you ask me what my mood was after the last game, it wasn't the best as you'd expect. But this is the Premier League and I know the level we need to be at to win games.
“When you are the best team on the pitch, normally you take points from the game. We know why we didn't. If you are not at your best, you are going to be punished and we were punished by our own mistakes.”
With the Whites currently sat ninth in the table – and looking above them rather than below, Marco was keen to downplay suggestions of pressure.
“The pressure at this football club was maybe in the last six or seven years when it was going up and down every single time. Right now, there's zero pressure on the football club. We've got the club in a position where we just have to look forward, we just have to improve.
“Pressure exists because I'm the first one to put pressure on myself, on my staff and the players. If they don't feel it from outside, they're going to feel it from me for sure because I want to move forward.”
Leicester have lost six on the bounce, but our gaffer knows we’ll be facing a Foxes team that are ready to scrap.
“Of course, when you're not winning football games, the confidence is probably not top. But they've shown what it means to fight hard. We expect them to be brave and to fight. That's what we're going to face and we have to reach the same level of intensity.”
