Fulham have registered their interest in a permanent deal for Liverpool star Neco Williams, Football Insider understands.
The defender, 21, made a big impact on loan at the Cottagers in the second half of the season as they secured instant promotion back to the Premier League.
A Fulham source has told Football Insider that they are keen to convert Williams’ loan into a permanent deal as they scour the market for a new right-back.
In turn, Williams is believed to be planning to tell Liverpool he wants to join Fulham permanently and establish himself as a Premier League regular.
But any potential deal will come down to cost, with the Merseysiders valuing the Wales international at around the £12million mark.
Williams played a big role for the Londoners during the second half of the season.
He made 14 appearances after joining in January, with two goals and two assists under his belt.
Fulham won all but five of the games the 18-cap international featured in.
They have now made moves to take him back to Craven Cottage on a permanent basis.
However, they may look to negotiate a fee lower than Liverpool’s eight-figure asking price.
Williams’ contract at Anfield runs until the summer of 2025.
He has played 33 times for the Reds’ senior side to date.
