Fulham Head Coach Scott Parker was left rueing missed chances as Fulham were forced to settle for a point at Charlton on Wednesday night.

A bright start from Fulham saw them dominate large parts of the opening 45 minutes, Bobby Decordova-Reid going close on numerous occasions.

With Charlton contended to sit back and bank up in defence chances were few and far between but when opportunities did arise a lack of cutting edge in front of goal saw the match remain goalless.

Despite the frustration Parker was quick to focus on the positives and praise his sides defensive strength and the passion on show.

“I think sitting here now it’s a one or two nil game if we had taken our chances,” Parker stated. “There were two massive chances in that second half and if we had taken them we would be sitting here at 1-0”

“We had good control in that game so initially I feel a little bit disappointed.

“But in saying that we got another clean sheet. It’s our third clean sheet in a row now.

“If you don’t manage to win a game you certainly can’t lose it and I think from tonight that’s the biggest positive.

“I have sat in in this seat after matches this year where we have had a lot of control and we have still come away with a defeat because someone has hit us on the break.

“I think we were really solid and that’s a big positive.

“There is no denying that we have a lot of front half players injured at this present moment in time and this was certainly a game for an attacking piece of genius.

“We were playing a side who were banked up and we needed some attacking flair and something off the cuff but we didn’t have that because we have a lot of injuries.

“Overall I am delighted with my players who were full of commitment. I can’t fault our effort here tonight.

“Charlton were fighting for their lives and playing for a draw so we knew this match was going to come down to one chance.

“Tonight we had chances but weren’t clinical and of course on another day we could have taken one of those chances and we would have come away with a win.

“I saw a fully committed team.

“When we have come up against teams like this sometimes this year that are full of heart and passion we haven’t matched that.

“But tonight we did.

“Tonight we matched them toe-to-toe in the sense of heart and passion.

“It’s just shame we didn’t take our chances that fell our way. “

When asked about the injuries to key players within the squad the Head Coach stated that there is a slim chance that Aboubakar Kamara, Neeskens Kebano, Anthony Knockaert & Aleksandar Mitrovic could be fit to face Huddersfield Town following our clash with Manchester City in the Emirates FA Cup.

“I’m hoping there might be a slim chance for them to be back for Huddersfield,” Parker said. “It will be a bit touch and go to be honest with you but we hope to have them back soon.”
