Fulham Hat Trick Heroes - 1990-2000

last updated Monday 11th September 2000, 12:35 AM
Louis Saha became the first Fulham player to notch a Hat trick in the new millennium.

The clinical Frenchmen destroyed Barnsley with 3 first half strikes to maintain Fulham's 100% record.

Any questions about his goal record in France have quickly been dispelled and his £2.1 million transfer fee is beginning to look like a snip.

Saha joins an illustious list (?) of Fulham hatrick heroes in the past decade.

Louis Saha became the 6th Fulham player to notch a League hat trick in the past decade. He now looks a good bet to surpass Sean Farrell and Paul Moody who both notched 2 trebles in their Fulham careers.

01/01/92 West Brom A 3-2 Farrell (3)
24/04/93 Burnley H 4-0 Farrell (3), Kelly
15/10/94 Exeter H 4-0 Stallard (3), Morgan
06/05/95 Rochdale H 5-0 Cusack(3), M Thomas, Brazil
24/01/98 Luton A 4-1 Moody (3), Hayward
13/04/98 Carlise H 5-0 Peschisolido (3), Moody, Thorpe
08/05/99 Preston H 3-0 Moody (3)
10/09/00 Barnsley H 5-1 Saha (3), Hayles, Boa Morte

After last seasons goal drought, the division 1 scoring charts make interesting reading, with Saha (5) and Hayles (4) leading the way. If they remain injury free, it looks odds that one if not both will break the 20 goal barrier, which only Mike Conroy has achieved in recent years.
