Fulham forward Andre Schurrle has revealed why he decided to join Fulham this summer instead of another interested club.

The German World Cup winner joined from Borrussia Dortmund in the summer on a two-year loan move to Craven Cottage.

The 27-year-old, who has previously played for Fulham's near neighbours Chelsea, was interviewed by BT Sport ahead of Fulham v Arsenal and explained that Slavisa Jokanovic's philosophy helped himn choose Fulham.

Schurrle said that he had choices to join other clubs this summer but opted to make the move to west London instead and explained the difficulties Fulham have had starting the season with so many new players joining all at once.

He added that things could start to improve as the season goes on and said that once the team starts to win more regularly things should improve.

Schurrle told BT Sport: "I had a few choices but I'd rather stay with a side that wants to play football, wants to really develop their style of playing and i want to help with that.

"It's not easy if you have to get six or five players at the end of the transfer period and three or four the week before, it's not easy to go straight into games with a team that never saw each and never played each other, so it's still developing."

Asked whether Fulham be more settled in the next three or four months he added: "To build you always need success, the win against Burnley you had the feeling after that there was a big relief.

"Everybody was looking like 'ok we can win games in this league and we can play nice and win games'.

"We let that momentum get away when we got the 2-0 lead against Brighton and threw that game and it's difficult, we have to keep going and learn fast."
