Fulham director of football Tony Khan believes manager Marco Silva will be at the club for the foreseeable future.

The 45-year-old has enjoyed a stunning season at Craven Cottage and could yet see the team achieve a record points haul in the Premier League.

Many may have predicted the Cottagers to have been involved in the relegation scrap before a ball was kicked but Silva has helped stabilize the club after a period of yo-yoing between the Premier League and the Championship.

Naturally, the Portuguese has been linked with a move away from the club.

Both West Ham and Tottenham have been touted as potential landing spots for the former Hull boss, who was nominated the Premier League Manager of the Season award.

Standard Sport understands Fulham have held talks with Silva over the prospect of extending his contract, which is currently due to expire at the of next season, amid fears rival clubs could look to exploit a £6m release clause in his deal.

“It has all come together for a really special moment and I am very positive about Marco,” he told The Athletic.

“He is very happy at Fulham, and all of us are very happy with him. We want that to continue, hopefully for a very long time.”
