Fulham defender Alfie Mawson on loan at Bristol City has had to have surgery on his knee and will now begin a period of rehab, though it is not yet clear just how long he will be sidelined for.
Bristol City have started this season in decent shape and will be hoping to challenge for promotion, or at least the play-offs, for the duration of the campaign.
Mawson seems on course to miss a fair chunk of the campaign now, though, with the Robins confirming that he is now on the recovery trail after having surgery on his knee.
The defender hasn’t been at the club long having joined on loan from Premier League side Fulham and picked up the blow during the loss to Middlesbrough in the Sky Bet Championship.
The Robins haven’t put a timeframe on things which is fair enough but it seems safe to assume that Mawson will be out for a considerable enough period of time, especially with how jam-packed the schedule is.
