Speaking to the media following Fulham’s 1-0 victory at Peterborough United on Saturday afternoon, Fulham boss Marco Silva praised his side’s patience and balance.

“We won’t always score a big number of goals in every match," explained Fulham’s Head Coach.

“Our opponents blocked us well, the pitch wasn’t in the condition to play a quick game and it was tough like we expected.

“Every time they play a top side, they achieve very good results, which means they’re a strong side at home.

“We started the game well, with the right intensity, the right pace, winning the second balls, but they waited for us in the middle and it wasn’t easy to play against them.

“I told our players at half-time that the key will be patience and balance. We have to play higher, quicker and make better decisions in attack because we’ll score, and we did it.

Aleksandar Mitrovic netted his twentieth goal of the season, and while crediting the frontman, Fulham’s Head Coach also stressed the importance of the collective creativity within the team.

“It’s fantastic what Mitrovic is doing,” said Silva.

“It’s a collective process, as Mitro can’t score goals without us creating.

“Of course, when you have a player with his capacity and ability to score goals, it’s fantastic for us. We know as a team that Mitro is a fantastic player.

“We also had Rodrigo Muniz on the bench, who has the capacity to score goals too.

“It was a fantastic moment from [Neeskens] Kebano, the way he created the chance.

“Our number 9 loves getting chances to score, and he’s brilliant.”
