Fulham coach Marco Silva was frustrated that his side couldn’t find the cutting edge in the opposition box, as Fulham drew 1-1 with Bristol City at Ashton Gate.

“The first thing we must do is score goals to win football matches,” he said. “We need some luck with referee decisions because today it was key for the result.”

“In the first half we were not at the pace and intensity that we should be playing football. We made a couple of changes and you saw the difference, we tried to attack and started creating chances.

“We were winning the game. In this moment, we created so many chances, we must score the second and third to kill the game, but and we didn’t score.

"In the second half, we controlled the game, but they had moments on the counter-attack.

"It’s important for us to be calmer and finalise the action – be more relaxed when making decisions and show more quality because we worked on ways to arrive in those positions. It’s difficult, but something we’ll keep working on to improve.”

Silva credited the home team, as both teams threw everything at it in an attempt to grab the winner.

“I respect Bristol City,” Silva continued. “They are a dangerous team.

"Unfortunately, we didn’t score more goals and the linesman gave a goal to them that was not a normal goal.

"Ashton Gate has a good atmosphere, and it’s fantastic for us to play in a good atmosphere. It’s a good pitch and stadium to play football.

"We had to show our quality, nothing more.”
