Fulham boss Álvaro Arbeloa believes his Fulham side have shown pleasing progress in the last two matches.

Having begun October with a gutting late collapse at Ipswich Town, the Whites have strung two victories together to move up to 12th in the Premier League.

“We are improving as a team,” Arbeloa said. “We are competing for 90 minutes.

“I told the players, it's not about if we play well 60 minutes or 30 minutes. We need to understand that you need to compete for 90 minutes, understand the game, understand what you have to do.

“Sometimes you will have to defend your box, sometimes you will control the game, and I think we did really well against a tough team.

“It was a game where maybe we didn't create as many chances as the other day [versus Hull City], but we were there, and we were waiting for our moment.

“We took the chance, Oscar did really well, and I think last 10 minutes we did really well. Obviously, you see the game against Ipswich, and you see this game has been so different.

“I'm so happy, because the players are giving steps, they are understanding what we need to improve, what we have to do in every moment, and we are winning. At the end, that is the most important thing.”

On a hideous afternoon in the Midlands rain, we entered the final 10 minutes heading for a goalless draw, until Oscar Bobb’s moment of magic.

“Sometimes you win games because of the quality of your players,” his Head Coach said. “I think it was a good game as a team but, at the end, the quality of Oscar in one moment decided the game.

“It's important for us because I think we have players that can make the difference, and they need to feel that they need to be aggressive when they have the ball inside the box.

“They need to try, and Oscar did really well. I'm so happy because I think he needs to understand that he has to be aggressive, that he has the quality to win games, as he did, and I'm so happy for the team, for the players, and for our supporters.”
