Fulham coach Marco Silva was pleased that his respect for the Carabao Cup was rewarded on Wednesday, but would have liked to have seen more goals from Fulham.
The Whites had the better of the play and chances throughout our clash with Norwich City, but the 2-1 scoreline suggests a tighter affair.
“It was a good game for us, I believe,” Silva said. “We took the competition really serious, and we deserve to be there in the next round.
“Overall it was good for us, and we are going to be serious, like always, in the Carabao and FA Cup when we come to play.
“They are competitions that we're going to look at seriously, always prepare as important games for us, to give us a good opportunity to keep in the competition.
“We have created a big number of chances, of course we have to be more ruthless, we have to be more effective in some moments.
“When the ball arrives in certain areas inside the box we have to finish the moments. We cannot go from the right to the left so many times to make the last pass, the last cross.
“Okay, it was great from Norwich, the way they defend the box in some moments, but we must be more assertive in those moments, we should have created more chances and scored more goals, because we created enough.”
Alex Iwobi marked his first start with an assist and a goal – an output that comes as no surprise to his Head Coach.
“As you know, he's a player that I know really well,” Silva said. “I was responsible for him signing for Everton as well.
“A player that I know what he can do for ourselves in many different positions on the pitch.
“He has quality, he’s dynamic, and his energy, as well, means he’s going to be another important player for us.”
