Fulham (2) 3-2 (1) Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest skipper Jack Hobbs’ own-goal ensured a miserable Craven Cottage return for Ross McCormack.
The deadline day loan signing from Aston Villa drew a blank on his first start as play-off chasing Fulham secured a comeback win.
Patjim Kasami and Ben Brereton scored for Forest either side of a three-minute blitz from Tom Cairney and Lucas Piazon before Hobbs’ misfortune.
Swiss international Kasami guided a half-volley into the top scorer to give the visitors the lead after Ragnar Sigurdsson sloppily gave the ball away.
Slavisa Jokanovic hauled off Sigurdsson inside half an hour to switch to a back three and the change worked as his side were ahead within five minutes.
First Ryan Sessegnon surged down the left and set up Cairney.
Then CHelsea loanee Piazon cut inside from the opposite flank to waltz past two lazy tackles and find the bottom corner.
Forest were level two minutes after the break as Ben Brereton rose to nod a leveller past David Button’s despairing dive.
But substitute Neeskens Kebano beat stopper Vladimir Stojkovic to a bouncing ball and restore the Cottagers’ lead via a deflection off Hobbs.
Defeat leaves interim boss Gary Brazil looking over his shoulder with Forest just seven points from the drop zone.
