Former Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa has reportedly held discussions, with Fulham, about taking his first Premier League manager’s job.
The former Liverpool full-back, 43, spent five years coaching Real Madrid‘s youth players and a year in charge of their B team before replacing Xabi Alonso at the helm of the senior side in January.
But Bernabeu bosses axed Arbeloa after a trophyless campaign and an underwhelming five-month tenure.
According to The Athletic, Fulham have sounded him out for their vacant head coach position.
Arbeloa is believed to have held discussions with the Craven Cottage hierarchy about taking over ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Arbeloa is vastly less experienced than Fulham's former coach Marco Silva as a top-level manager but was highly-regarded before taking Real’s top job.
As a player he earned 56 caps for Spain, winning a World Cup and two European Championships.
At club level Arbeloa had brief stints at Deportivo La Coruna and West Ham as well as longer spells at Real Madrid and Liverpool.
