TOTTENHAM aim to rescue Luis Boa Morte from his nightmare spell at West Ham — with a cut-price £2million summer swoop.
Spurs boss Martin Jol made a similar bid for the Portuguese winger during the winter transfer window.
But he was blown out of the water by Hammers boss Alan Curbishley taking Boa Morte from Fulham for £5m, on wages of more than £50,000 a week.
Boa Morte, 29, was not keen on Upton Park but felt he had no choice once Fulham had accepted Curbishley’s bid for their club captain.
He has struggled for form and is also said to have suffered a virus since moving across London.
But Jol, desperate to sign a left-sided player, will lead the queue at the likely West Ham relegation sale this summer with a renewed bid.
Jol also hopes to snap up troubled Hammers defender Anton Ferdinand, 22, and could even make a move for Hammers skipper Nigel Reo-Coker, 22
