Felix Magath appointment -- Press coverage

Fulham Football Club

Another chapter in Fulham's most difficult of Premiership seasons was written yesterday with the almost bizzare announcement that Fulham had appointed another manager, one Felix Magath. Magath is one of the most  successful manager in recent Bundesliga history with players either loving or hating his methods, a bit like marmite.

The Fulham squad should get a briefing from our German players Sasha Riether and Lewis Holtby. However if any of the squad want to know about him there is plenty of stuff on the internet like;

"Those familiar with Felix Magath as a coach know all too well about his notorious reputation as a disciplinarian. Stern training methods like the use of medicine balls, lead weighted jackets and high altitude running have become a Magath trademark in German football. At Stuttgart for example he held training sessions three times a day and regularly held cross-country runs at dawn. Bundesligafanatic

Ex-Middlesbrough striker Jan Aage Fjortoft, who played under Magath at Eintracht Frankfurt, has tweeted: "Dear Fulham fans. Never will you say again: Players didn't run enough. Players don't train enough. The boss is not clear enough."

He added: "Remember The Special One. This is The Fittest One. Once we were finished running at our TrainingCamp a player had disappeared. We had to look for him. Found him. Had collapsed."
