Euell frozen out by Curbishley

Jason EuellJASON EUELL insists he is ready to leave Charlton after being ‘frozen out’ by Alan Curbishley.

Euell, Charlton’s top scorer for the past three seasons, claims he has been treated unfairly by boss Curbishley after starting just two matches in three months.

He raged: “My situation is far from satisfactory. I have started two games since mid-September and don’t feel I’m getting a fair crack of the whip.

“I admit, on occasions, I haven’t performed but there are others who can say the same thing — yet they’re still selected whereas I have been frozen out of the picture.

“It’s very frustrating. At my age, I need to be playing regularly. If I find myself falling further out of the picture, then it’s natural that I’ll have to consider my future.

“With the transfer window opening in January, the next few weeks might be critical for me.”

Euell, 27, was a £4.75m club-record signing from Wimbledon in 2001.

Curbishley said: “Jason extended his contract in the summer.

“It’s easy for players not playing to think about moving but, when we go into a season, the squad I have is there for the year.

“He isn’t happy obviously but he’ll have to wait for his chance.”
