Division One Scores & Stats

last updated Wednesday 21st February 2001, 10:01 PM

Fulham Football Club are the top club in the Nationwide league.

What can one say we have lost for only the 4th time so far this season and it hurts despite how different our current situation is to what it used to be.

We went one up through Barry Hayles who headed home a far post cross from Steve Finnan, for his 18th goal, but we were not able to keep Burnley out and they went on to score two goals in the last 18 minutes. There is likely to be a court of inquiry once Jean Tigana gets the lads together because they were chasing the game from the start and although it is only the 4th defeat this season it is the 3rd in 8 games!!!.

Our performances is obviously less assured since the turn of the year and if that form continues the Championship may be a bit of a scrabbled affair

The Fulhamweb prediction for this match was 2-0 to the Cottagers with a crowd of 17250 it turned out to be 2-1 to Burnley in front of 15737.

Fortunately Bolton stumbled again and could only draw at home to Grimsby while Blackburn won away at a nine man Watford. Birmingham won 2-0 away at Preston and West Brom drew 2-2 at home to Crewe

On Friday we see an excellent Division One game between Bolton and Blackburn, come on Blackburn.

Say ... We are top of Division One after two thirds of the campaign, have lost only three games, have the best goal difference and the leading scorer in the Premier and Nationwide leagues.
