Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch has been the subject of intense speculation regarding a potential move all summer, with Sunderland emerging in recent days as favourites to secure the services of the tall England international.
However, Sky Sports News is claiming that Fulham have now emerged as strong contenders for the player's signature, as Crouch himself apparently favours a switch to Craven Cottage over one to the Stadium of Light.
The striker was part of Portsmouth's training today, but the feeling seems to be that he will not be remaining at Fratton Park for much longer.
Cottagers' boss Roy Hodgson has admitted that he would like to bring the player to west London, and he could help fund the transfer with the proceeds of the deal that could shortly take Booby Zamora to Hull City, with a bid for the Fulham striker having been accepted last week.
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly also interested in Crouch, but it seems that Roy Hodgson's men are now the favourites to have the England man joining their ranks for a campaign in which they will compete in the Europa League.
