Referee Chris Kavanagh started refereeing in 1998 at the age of 13 years old. At age 29 years he was promoted to referee in the Blue Square Conference in season 2012-13 and then in the Football League in the 2014/2015 season.

In the summer of 2016 he was promoted to the Select Group 2 and is employed on a full time basis. Mr Kavanagh then became a Select Group 1 referee for the 2017/18 season.

The last time Ref Kavanagh bossed a Fulham game was earlier in the season in October 2022 when we lost 3-1 away at West Ham, in the second worse result of the season so far. Mr Kavanagh booked 4 players, three from Fulham, Andreas Pereira, Harrison Reed and Carlos Vinicius. Andreas Pereira scored Fulham's goal.

Ref Kavanagh also refed Fulham in November 2021 when we drew 1-1 away at Preston during which he yellow carded two players from each team. The Fulham players were Antonee Robinson and Josh Onomah both for fouls. Tim Ream was our goal scorer with a left footed shot from very close range to the centre of the goal. Assisted by Jean Michael Seri with a cross following a set piece situation.

On Ref Kavanagh's previous annual visit in May 2021 we lost 2-0 at home to Newcastle in our last Premiership game in season 2020/2021 and he booked one player Fulham's Kenny Tete for a foul.

Mr Kavanagh previous game with Fulham was in September 2020 when we lost 3-0 at home to Arsenal in our first game back in the Premier League. He booked four players including Michael Hector (26,f) and Tom Cairney (61,f).

It was over a year previous to that Mr Kavanagh bossed a Fulham game in the home Premier League win against Cardiff in April 2019, which we won with a Ryan Babel goal in the 79th minute.

That was Mr Kavanagh's only meeting with Fulham that season but he was the ref for the second leg of the 2017/18 season's Play Off Semi-Final 2-0 home win against Derby. He booked six players four of them from Fulham, Stefan Johansen (62,f), Aboubakar Kamara (74,sim), Kevin McDonald (78,tw), Marcus Bettinelli (90+4,tw).

Prior to the Derby game Mr Kavanagh refed one other Fulham game in that season the 2-2 draw with QPR in March 2018. He booked Matt Targett (86,f), Aleksandar Mitrovic (90+3,arg) and three QPR players.

Mr Kavanagh last refed Leeds United in October 2022 when they lost 1-0 at home to Arsenal. Two players were booked, both Arsenal players.

Last season, 2021/22, Mr Kavanagh refed 28 games and dished out 101 yellows and 4 reds, so an average 3.6 yellows per game.

His busiest game in recent times was the Brighton v Aston Villa game in November 2022 when Mr Kavanagh booked nine players, seven were from Aston villa.
