Referee Chris Kavanagh started refereeing in 1998 at the age of 13 years old. At age 29 years he was promoted to referee in the Blue Square Conference in season 2012-13 and then in the Football League in the 2014/2015 season.

In the summer of 2016 he was promoted to the Select Group 2 and is employed on a full time basis. Mr Kavanagh then became a Select Group 1 referee for the 2017/18 season.

The last time Ref Kavanagh bossed a Fulham game was the second leg of last season's Play Off Semi-Final 2-0 home win against Derby. He booked six players four of them from Fulham, Johansen (62,f), Kamara (74,sim), McDonald (78,tw), Bettinelli (90+4,tw).

Prior to the Derby game Mr Kavanagh refed one other Fulham game in that season the 2-2 draw with QPR in March 2018. He booked Targett (86,f), Mitrovic (90+3,arg) and three QPR players.

Mr Kavanagh last reffed Cardiff City in Feb 2017 when they lost 1-0 at home to Norwich In April 2017. He booked five players two of which were from Cardiff.

Last season he refed 30 games and dished out 102 yellows and 4 reds, so an average 3.4 yellows per game. This season so far he has bossed 29 games and issued 98 yellows, an average 3.5 cards a match, and 2 reds

Mr Kavanagh's busiest games so far this season were West Ham v Newcastle in March and Blackburn v Wigan in the Championship in his next game when he yellow carded seven players in each game.
