Referee Chris Kavanagh started refereeing in 1998 at the age of 13 years old. At age 29 years he was promoted to referee in the Blue Square Conference in season 2012-13 and then in the Football League in the 2014/2015 season.
In the summer of 2016 he was promoted to the Select Group 2 and is employed on a full time basis.
Mr Kavanagh then became a Select Group 1 referee for the 2017/18 season.
The last time Ref Kavanagh bossed a Fulham game was the home Premier League win against Cardiff in April 2019, which we won with a Ryan Babel goal in the 79th minute.
That was Mr Kavanagh's only meeting with Fulham that season but he was the ref for the second leg of the 2017/18 season's Play Off Semi-Final 2-0 home win against Derby. He booked six players four of them from Fulham, Johansen (62,f), Kamara (74,sim), McDonald (78,tw), Bettinelli (90+4,tw).
Prior to the Derby game Mr Kavanagh refed one other Fulham game in that season the 2-2 draw with QPR in March 2018. He booked Targett (86,f), Mitrovic (90+3,arg) and three QPR players.
Mr Kavanagh last reffed Arsenal in July 2020 when they lost 1-0 at away to Aston Villa. He booked six players four of which were from Arsenal.
Last season he refed 34 games and dished out 120 yellows and 1 red, so an average 3.5 yellows per game.
