Charlton (1) 1-1 (1) Fulham

Fulham moved above Rotherham into 20th place in the Championship table and eight points clear of the relegation zone after a derby draw at Charlton.

Ross McCormack headed Fulham in front early on as the Cottagers looked to make it back-to-back away wins.

But Johann Gudmundsson fired in his 10th goal of the season after 16 minutes to give the Addicks a point.

Fulham could have secured only a third win since January in the last minute but Matt Smith shot over the bar.

McCormack gave Fulham the perfect start after just eight minutes when he nodded his 14th goal of the season over keeper Stephen Henderson following a flick-on from strike partner Smith.

However, the lead lasted just 10 minutes before Morgan Fox whipped in a low cross for Iceland international Gudmundsson to hammer the ball into the roof of the net at the far post, despite Fulham's claim that team-mate Frederic Bulot had been in an off-side position.

Gudmundsson then missed a great chance when he shot wide from a Igor Vetokele cross before the break and Chris Eagles was denied by Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli in the second half.

But Fulham could have earned only their fifth away win with Smith seeing an effort cleared off the line by Joe Gomez before wasting a fantastic late chance.

Fulham manager Kit Symons:
"I'd say it was a good point, although I'd have liked all three. But I think you take what you can at this moment in time.

"Their goal was blatantly offside. It was a horrific decision and it cost us dearly.

"We were the team pushing. We had double their shots but couldn't quite get that second goal.

"Matty Smith was out on his feet at the end when he put that right-foot effort over the bar. If he was a little bit more lively he would have finished that."
